The Northern Spotted Owl is a well-known resident of Monument old-growth forests.

The Monument's dragonfly and damselfly diversity is off the charts!

The Federally endangered Gentner's Fritillary is found in a few small patches on the Monument.

Monument butterfly diversity is among the highest in North America, with more than 100 documented species.  This fritillary is often seen in summer.

Pilot Rock is a Peregrine Falcon nesting site.The Oregon Spotted Frog is a rare and endangered amphibian on the Monument.
