2011 Pilot Rock Hike and Learn Series 
Dr. Jad D'Allura, Southern Oregon University geology professor, led a hike to Pilot Rock on October 30, 2011. 

24 intrepid learners gathered in the meadow west of Pilot Rock for an introduction to Monument geology.

Most of the group made the steep scramble for a close-up of Pilot Rock's unique columnar andesite.

On September 29, eight volunteers and five BLM staff pulled old fence from the Box O Ranch on Jenny Creek.  Thanks to all who gave of their time and energy!
